A closer look.

The blue around the brown

The brown face and central dial give this Holo-Electro Fluvita a wonderfully grounded appearance. Around them, the blue border and beige lining bring a softer contrast. Then the glass catches the light and the case becomes a little collection of curves, chambers and electrical ambition.

I find these quieter colour combinations especially appealing. A wand, a dial and a few carefully placed fittings can give an old apparatus as much personality as the grandest velvet-lined display. This one has that feeling of a set that wants to be opened and looked through slowly.

The work and the condition

My restoration notes describe a return to the original specification using like-for-like replacements, with a strong, consistent discharge and a restored and tested power lead. They give the supply as 220–240 V with a UK plug fitted.

The condition is Used – good. The original housing is described as having only very minor age-related wear, and the matching pictured glass was tested. I like seeing the age of the object remain part of its appearance alongside the work that has gone into the apparatus.

A case full of individual details

The Holo-Electro Fluvita generator, matching glass selection shown in the gallery and mains lead accompany this set. The individual forms and their arrangement are worth a closer look; the blue and beige setting makes the glass particularly pleasing to study.

For me, the appeal begins with the real object: that warm panel, central control, fitted case and glass brought together in one compact presentation. Enquire here and I can talk you through this Fluvita, its accompanying pieces and a closer demonstration.

Condition: Used – good.
